David Cowdry's studio
1. My wife Jill. Always encouraging and supportive and I even paint her occasionally, as seen here in the portrait on the easel. I just couldn’t do what I do without her.
2. My Michael Harding oil paints. Although I also work with acrylics and fast drying oils, it is these oils from Michael Harding that I love to use the most. The quality of these paints continually delights.
3. Our dog Fennel. My constant studio companion. She is often in the studio before me and also accompanies me when out in the field gathering reference for paintings.
4. My granddaughter Ottilie. Just turned 2 and as bright as a button. I can see many paintings of this little munchkin on the easel in the future, and it will also be a joy to pass on a few painting tips as she grows up.
5. My sketchbooks. A constant source of reference and inspiration for so many paintings. I have kept a sketchbook since the start of my career in 1992, and I’m sure that won’t be changing any time soon. They are the backbone of what I do.
